Announcement of Elementary Staff Changes

We hope that you have been able to enjoy the start of summer and found time to wind down after the close of another school year! It is certainly quiet in the building and we miss seeing the students' smiling faces each day.

Although it has only been a few weeks since we said goodbye to the ‘23-’24 school year, we are already looking ahead to September and have been busy making sure things are in place for the start of the new school year! With that being said, it is with great pleasure that we would like to announce some exciting changes to our elementary staff.

First, Mrs. Sandy Bostwick will be moving into a brand new role in the fall and using her 50 years of classroom experience to serve as a mentor teacher for our elementary faculty, as well as taking on the role of reading specialist for our elementary students. Mrs. Bostwick brings with her an extensive toolbox of resources from her years in both public and special education that she looks forward to sharing with the faculty and students. She is also excited to be able to share her passion and gifts for developing strong readers in our elementary program through both small group instruction, individual tutoring and collaboration with classroom teachers. We are excited to see the amazing ways in which God will use Mrs. Bostwick in this position.

Mrs. Jill Christian will be moving out of third grade and taking on the role as TCA’s second grade teacher. Prior to joining the TCA faculty in 2019, Mrs. Christian taught for seven years in special education in Dennis-Yarmouth Public Schools and then taught second grade for three years at Veritas Academy in Centerville. With a BA in elementary and special education and a MS in reading, she is excited to experience the joy of learning through her students' eyes. She looks forward to the challenge of learning a new curriculum and finding ways to make learning fun and engaging as she continues to build on the foundations established in the early elementary years that prepares her students for the upper elementary grades.

Taking Mrs. Christian’s position as the new third grade teacher is Mrs. Julie Link. Julie's teaching experience has ranged from previously working in kindergarten at Trinity to teaching a combined first-second grade class at Veritas Academy for four years, and homeschooling her own children, before rejoining the TCA faculty last year as a co-teacher with Ms. Austin in our fourth grade classroom. She has enjoyed being back in the classroom and loves watching the student’s grow both academically and spiritually. When asked what she is looking forward to most about teaching third grade next year, Julie said it was being able to bring Jesus into all areas of the curriculum, not just in Bible class, so that her students see how God is a part of every aspect of our lives.

Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Bostwick, Mrs. Christian, and Mrs. Link on their new positions. We look forward to seeing the amazing ways in which God will use these incredibly gifted teachers in the upcoming school year!

Yours for Christian Education,
Dr. Bruce Hanlon, Head of School
                        and
Mrs. Kelly Byrnes, Asst. Head of School
